18-19 October 2016

Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jhalana Doongri, Jaipur, Rajasthan

In order to expand the reach of exploratory dance practices beyond the major metropolitan cities in the country, IGNITE! will travel to Jaipur between 18-19 October 2016 with a condensed version of the festival programme.

The festival will take place at Jawahar Kala Kendra, a not-for-profit arts and culture centre. The centre has been pronouncedly diminishing the gaps among artists, artisans, scholars, visitors and art connoisseurs, creating a space where they can interact with each other and offering an ambience that is rooted in the culture of Rajasthan. JKK was designed by the renowned architect Charles Correa.

The festival programme includes performances by Preethi Athreya (India), Nimmy Raphel (India) and Tabea Martin (India), masterclasses with Vinay Kumar and Preethi Athreya and curated conversations with the artists.

IGNITE! 2016 is presented in Jaipur in partnership with Jawahar Kala Kendra
